About

Nettoloun is a net-pay calculator for Luxembourg, for anyone working here or weighing up a move. The figures shown are taken from named primary sources and are awaiting the site’s own review and sign-off.

What this is

This is a net-pay calculator for Luxembourg. It is for anyone who works here or is weighing up a move — so that, before you sign a contract, you can see how much of a gross salary actually reaches your account, and where each euro goes along the way. It models the case that covers most employees: a resident in standard dependent employment, taxed under the normal regime, with pay withheld monthly at source. From the monthly gross it works out the social contributions, the withholding tax (RTS) by tax class, the employee tax credit and the net pay, and shows the total employer cost alongside.

Our promise: honest figures

No number here is invented. Every rate and amount is meant to trace to an official source, and the calculator reads its figures from one central data file rather than hard-coding them into the pages — so a corrected value updates everywhere at once. Anything we could not confirm from a primary source is flagged as needing sign-off or left out rather than dressed up as settled. No figure on this site has been signed off yet, the pages carry a notice saying so on every route, and no result is fit for a real decision until each value is confirmed against its source.

We are specific about what is not yet nailed down. The class-1a tax formula is an approximation, flagged in the calculator, pending a cross-check against the tax administration’s official online calculator; classes 1 and 2 are modelled exactly. The recent pension-rate change and a few statutory amounts are re-checked against the primary gazette. Average and median salary figures are treated as context only and kept out of the calculation entirely. Where a provision sits outside the calculator’s scope — the high-income solidarity band, the single-parent and minimum-wage tax credits, meal vouchers, the travel allowance, the impatriate regime, non-periodic pay such as a bonus, and the finer points of cross-border taxation — we say so in the relevant page rather than let a silent omission mislead you.

Methodology and sources

The calculation follows the primary and authoritative Luxembourg sources for salaried pay:

  • ACD (Administration des contributions directes) — the income-tax tariff, the tax classes, the standard allowances and the employee tax credit.
  • CCSS (Centre commun de la sécurité sociale) — the social-contribution rates, the contributory ceiling and the social minimum wage.
  • Legilux — the official gazette (Mémorial A): the enacted tariff and the statutory amounts.
  • STATEC — the national statistics office: context figures such as average earnings, used for background only, never in the calculation.

The figures on this site were last checked: July 2026. Each value carries its source and the date it was last checked.

Disclaimer

The results are for information. This is an informational calculator, not tax advice — it does not replace a tax adviser or the tax administration, and for an official calculation you should turn to them. What it computes is the monthly withholding, a close estimate of take-home pay, not the year-end assessment: the annual décompte (form 163) or a full return (form 100) reconciles credits and deductions that are not on your payslip and can lead to a refund or a top-up, and the figures here are still awaiting reviewer sign-off. The site loads Google Analytics 4 to count visits, with every storage signal denied by default, so it sets no cookie and stores no identifier (see the cookie page); the amounts you type never leave your browser.
